The Magic and Illusions of
Eric Michaels has been performing magic since he was a child. Starting with a little ring and a piece of string from his very first magic set, Eric began his journey into the magical world of mystery and excitement. Since 2003, Eric's show has developed into a one-of-a-kind class act that is jam packed with puzzling magic, audience participation, comedy, live animals, and his beautiful assistant! Come see what everyone is talking about, it's not just a magic show, it's an experience!
Magical illusions have captured the interest of Eric Michaels since 1997. Inspired by Master Magician Lance Burton, Eric started his magical beginnings in 2003 by performing at 4-H meetings, school classes, and of course any family gatherings he could. Eric's talent quickly grew as he began performing more and more throughout his years of high school and college. Now, Eric performs full time, traveling all over the Cedar Valley and across the State of Iowa. In addition to his show Eric also works with the band "Milk and Honey." In his spare time Eric enjoys weather spotting for the National Weather Service, serving on his local fair board, and being an EMT with the Janesville First Respoders and Denver Ambulance Service!
Music teacher by day, Magician's assistant by evening! Niki joined the show in 2016 and brings to the stage her unique and entertaining stage personality. Niki's favorite illusions to perform are the Hand Chopper Trick and Big Box Trick because she gets to see the audience reactions to the magic and enjoys interacting with the audience volunteers.
Makaela joined the show in 2012 as lead assistant and after many many shows and hundreds of miles on the road, in 2014 decided to take some time off to focus on family. Since then, Makaela has filled in from time to time but has always proven her self as a dependable and valuable part of the show. Makaela is excited to be returning more frequently starting in 2021 and looks forward to dazzling audiences once again!
Vaughn Ver Steegt
Vaughn has been with the show since the beginning. A man of many hats, Vaughn is always busy working on something to make the show better. Vaughn started as roadie and chauffeur, driving Eric around to different shows and helping set up and tear down. Today, Vaughn still does that and also runs the sounds, takes pictures, video tapes the shows, and builds small miscellaneous props that are needed for the show.
